    Default Xat's Image Optimizer

This is a bit irrelevant, but I was wondering if anyone that has used Xat's Image Optimizer anywhere from 2005-2006 also used to go on the chat boxes. If so, let me know please. Thank you.

I have a version 4.00 0604 © 2000-2003, still going strong under Windows 7 even though the top OS it's rated for is XP. I love it. It's so easy to use and it really reduces the byte size of images with as little decrease in resolution as possible, or optionally with a bit of a resolution hit for an even smaller file size. It's batch mode is also very easy to use and great for when you have a ton of images to process. There are other features like watermark which I haven't bothered with. But I often use it (when I'm in a hurry) as my only image processor for huge files right out of the camera, right off the web, or from emails from friends. It can resize, sharpen, crop, do histogram functions, etc. Not as extensive as a full blown image editor, but it's more than adequate for many situations. Conversion between image file types is also a snap.

I'm unaware of a chat boxes feature though. Perhaps my version is too early. Is it possible it's listed under another name? What is it exactly?

Hi! So the optimizer is pretty simple and easy to use? I've not yet purchased it but I might want to soon! Do you think you can check out xat.com/98440 ? you'll be able to see the chatbox feature there.

I believe that's a horse of a different color, apples and oranges as they say. If all you want is a chat box, you probably just need a server with a server side language enabled (probably PHP, I've seen these sorts of things before and the ones I saw used PHP as the server side language. I'm sure there are others that use asp, and other server side languages) and 'the package' - documentation and default files required for a basic setup and how to customize it.

Or, if you just want what they're apparently offering for free which looks like an embed of a portal to their chat box, or a generic chat box for your site (not sure which it is), click on the 'get a chat box' button and copy the embed code or choose one of the buttons for the type of blog or other page you want it for. Or go here:

    for more options.

In any case this has nothing to do with their optimizer program, which is quite good at what it does - optimize images.
