I cant see how Im missing this?

Can I make it scroll from right to left instead of bottom up ?

hmm that example run vertically.
Try this one:

i make the example using image, but you can change it to text or everything you want.
It has the same effect like the example link in dynamicdrive, the different is in my example it's run horizontal like you need.
