I know I have posted a few questions concerning Wordpress recently just to have figured out my self eventually. Though I will admit that I have been at this problem for hours and am completely stumped. Any help would be appreciated.

I decided to create a most popular section on my site with the use of jQuery Carousel.

I have the most popular section running off a "popular" category I created. I am calling 5 posts as of now. I got the jQuery Carousel and the posts to show up properly.

The problem is that my single.php for some reason is calling everyone. Regardless of the individual post that is selected, it displays those 5 that are in the popular section.

This is my popular loop

PHP Code:
<ul class="jcarousel-list">
                                <?php query_posts('category_name=popular&showposts=5'); ?>
                                <?php if ( have_posts() ) : while ( have_posts() ) : the_post(); ?>
                                    <div class="popular_image_wrap">
                                        <div class="popular_image">
                                            <a href="<?php the_permalink() ?>" title="<?php the_title(); ?>" ><img class="border-none" src="<?php echo catch_that_image() ?>" /></a>
                                    <div class="popular-title">
                                        <a href="<?php the_permalink() ?>" class="black" rel="bookmark" title="Go to: <?php the_title_attribute(); ?>"><?php the_title(); ?></a>
                                <?php endwhile; ?><?php endif; ?>
and this is all I have right now for my single.php

PHP Code:
<div class="content-sub">
                <?php if ( have_posts() ) : while ( have_posts() ) : the_post(); ?>
                    <div class="page-title"><?php the_title(); ?></div>

            <?php endwhile; ?>
        <?php endif; ?>

            </div><!-- end content-sub -->
