    Default Moving an object/element in Parallax

    Hey guys,

    I've visited a few Parallax demos that illustrate how to move background images across the screen with jQuery and a simple script similar to the following....

    -------------
    // speed in milliseconds
    var scrollSpeed22 = 60;

    // set the default position
    var current22 = 0;

    // set the direction
    var direction22 = 'h';

    function bgscroll22(){

    // 1 pixel row at a time
    current22 -= 1;

    // move the background with backgrond-position css properties
    $('div.item1').css("backgroundPosition", (direction22 == 'h') ? current22+"px 0" : "0 " + current22+"px");
    }

    //Calls the scrolling function repeatedly
    setInterval("bgscroll22()", scrollSpeed22);

    ------------

    The CSS for this is simply to call a background image and set the background-repeat property to "repeat-x".

    Was curious if there was an easy way to move an object across the screen without it having to be a background image.

    Thanks in advance....

    Hey Vic,

    Thanks for responding. I think this will work really well for me and by simply changing the IDs, I can add as many objects as I need.

    Only one question, is there a way to have them loop back around and continually travel across the screen like that infinitely?

    Thanks again!

    Thanks Vic....that was just what I was looking for and I can count this one as done.

    Was just curious.... if I ever wanted an element to be positioned somewhere on the page before it starts cycling through and moving across the page, would that be possible? In other words, keeping elements in a looping rotation on the page from right to left, just having them BEGIN somewhere on the screen?

    Thanks again Vic, that's the last question, I promise!

    Thanks man. That looks great. One thing I might have confused you on - would it be possible to have an element start on screen, then it slides off the screen to the left before reappearing at the right edge of the screen? Right now, when objects reappear, they reappear from their original starting spot instead of reappearing from the right side of the screen.

    Hope that makes sense, heh! Thanks again!
