Featured Content Slider rendering issue in IE8

3) Describe problem: Hello I am using this fine utility on the homepage of my shop http://www.irunathleticwear.com. It works beautifully in IE6, IE7, IE9, FF and Chrome but in IE8 a bit of the previous image appears on screen when a new image takes it place. This is especially noticable when the second image has white background. I don't know exactly what to do to alleviate this if anyone can assist it woul dbe greatly appreciated.

Normally this wouldn't bother be but I believe IE8 is the most used browser in the world. I am loving IE9 though
I have also tried adding [meta http-equiv="X-UA-Compatible" content="IE=7" /] which did not help matters.
