3) Describe problem: When I place a hyperlink on a slide, whether I add "_new" or not, the hyperlink opens a new window. I want the link to open a new page in the site; I don't want the hyperlink to open a new browser window. How do I achieve that?

Have you tried "_self" instead of "_new"
