Help needed modification of pop up calender

Hi I have downloaded xin's pop up calender http://www.dynamicdrive.com/dynamicindex6/popcalendar2.htm from here. I want to modify it little bit I want to change the out put value will appear like 1-JAN-2011 and future date selction will be disabled. And on more thing I want to do after submit java script will query from mysql if date not found out put will appear invalid date.
Can any one help me about this ?

Please avoid my first post I have made some change in my page so I have to change the calender too. I have downloaded xin's pop up calender http://www.dynamicdrive.com/dynamicindex6/popcalendar2.htm from here. I want to modify it little bit I want future date will be disabled. And on more thing I want to do calender date will show as I will set as last such like if I set 01-01-2010 calender will not go for 1999.
Can any one help me about this ?

i really can't quite understand what you're trying to describe... might i suggest that you rephrase it a little bit... you want the future date to be disabled, why?..do you want the date as static?..

Because my site build by cms. And we publish articles on the site and I want visitors will able to find articles as per date. Due to in future date no article published yet there no need enable.
And We are publishing articles from past 3 years and I want only past three years calender not more than that.
