hi i have just started making my website with microsoft frontpage 2003 and was wondering if i can make a member are where people can register a username and password and they can then access special content

i dont really know what that is? i do have macromedia cold fusion server but i dont know what to do with it

You could try using a .htaccess file. There is a .htaccess/.htpasswd generator right here on this site.
