Can you close a panel with a click outside of the panel

3) Describe problem: Is there a way to collapse the panel when the mouse is clicked outside of the panel?

I'm using the panels as a menu and targeting the same 'mypaneltab' for each separate instance. This works great and each instance opens in the same location except when the end user clicks more than one menu item. Then the panels stack one below the next. I'm thinking a better approach may be to somehow allow only one instance at a time or to reset the menu each time when another instance is opened. I could then live with closing the panel after a pre determined amount of time.

Could anyone offer the code for this type of solution?
