book flip image flickering

i am running IE 5.50.4807.2300CO on windows 2000 and the book flip pages flicker just before they are about to turn. Any ideas as I love this script but need to know why it flickers?

I am having the same problem with this script. I got the most recent code off the developer's site:
http://www.burmees.nl/menu/bookextended.html

and got it configured to my liking on a test page.
But I can't find a way to fix the flickering.
I tried pre-loading the images but no luck.
It seems fine in other browsers, but in IE 5.5 or IE 6, the flicker is there.

Anybody have a solution?
