    Default fadeslideshow.js start-up image

    1) Script Title:
    fadeslideshow.js
    2) Script URL (on DD):
    http://dynamicdrive.com/dynamicindex...nslideshow.htm
    3) Describe problem: Is there a way to begin this script displaying an image instead of a background color?

    The background is only shown while the script loads the first image. The script needs to do this before showing that first image since it needs to know its dimensions in advance. You can change the background color from the default black to white if you like.

    I would like to display an image that displays before the script begins and need the background to be transparent as the script begins so that the image footprint doesn't change to a solid color prior to the images fading in.

    I think there is a parameter for a beginning image but I can't find how to code it.

    I had the same thought recently and managed to get an image in the background like this
    Code:
    #fadeshow1, #fadeshow1 .gallerylayer {
        background-color: transparent !important;

    }
    #fadeshow1 {
        width:600px;
        height:450px;
        background-image: url(images/1.jpg);
    }
    The problem is that it will always take longer for an image to load than a solid color so you won't see the image immediately. The good part about this is that there will be an image visible in case the visitor has javascript disabled so it degrades better this way.
