Hmm two possible things that may be the culprit:

1) Your CSS. What happens if you revert your ddsmoothmenu.css to the original version?

2) The markup for your menu inside smoothmenu.htm may contain some error, such as an unclosed or improperly nested tag. Again, if you revert that file to the default one, what happens?
