Default Windows XP vs Windows 7

I have not tried Windows XP and stayed away from Vista like the plague when it came out. I'm just curious what people are thinking of Win 7 as compared to XP which I am currently using and still rather happy with .
To choose the lesser of two evils is still to choose evil. My personal site

    I'm quite satisfied with XP.

Continue avoiding Vista like the plague (fortunately, it's easier nowadays)

I've never used 7, but I've heard good things.

I want Windows 2000 (not ME) back.

I see no need to update from XP unless you need to use the most recent versions of advanced software (perhaps some video games and some graphics apps).

I've heard better things about Windows 7 than Vista, but I haven't been entirely convinced that it's "good", just not as bad as Vista. I don't really have any frame of reference for it though.
Basically, skip past Vista if you need to update, and if you can stick with XP for now happily, then why not do that? Once you need to update you can do Windows 7 and maybe by then it won't be the first version so some of the bugs (whatever they may be) will be fixed.
