Default Ultimate Fade-in slideshow pesky loading.gif problem

I've installed Ultimate Fade-in slideshow (v2.1), and seem to be having the same "loading.gif" never loading problem another user described. I read that post carefully, but in reading the solution, I didn't understand how it was solved.

restore.png and x.png seem to load fine.

The images are in the proper location.

The status bar indicates that IE is downloading "loading.gif", and according to the its URL, IE is attempting to load the image from its expected location.

The problem occurs only in IE 7 and 8. Not seeing this issue in FF or Safari.

Any ideas? I'm stumped and up against a client deadline.

    Thanks so much, in advance!

What post? If there is an answer there, I'd probably be able to explain it to you.

I do know that IE can sometimes get into an endless loop trying to load an image it's already trying to load (other browsers just skip to the next instance). If that's at work here, it might be tough to fix. Unless - You haven't setup your own preload for that image have you?
