CSS 3 Cross-Browser compatible ::selection?

Has anyone noticed if IE (and the few other minor browsers) support the CSS3 ::selection mode yet?

The option to change the select all colors would be great! But I would need it to work in all browsers and not have to use the -moz, -op style cases.

As far as I know, only mozilla browsers (with -moz-) and webkit browsers (without a vendor prefix) support that. I tested it in opera 10.51 and it doesn't work. As for IE, we'll have to wait for IE9..

That sucks. Can't we ban IE, make a Chrome or FireFox skin that looks like IE and install it sneakily during the night on everyone's Windows installation?

A helpful virus is an interesting idea. I'm surprised that all viruses are 'bad' and destructive. It would be much more interesting to see one that does something like changes the windows logo on the task bar to a linux logo and leaves the rest of the computer alone. Or one that destroys IE and kindly links to a firefox tutorial...
Or, due to the popularity of IE taskbars, someone should make a taskbar that just has the text "this browser is wrong, get firefox. thanks." it might work...
In an unrelated note, I'm interested that IE9 is coming out soon-- does that mean that IEX will be soon followed by IEX.7: House Cat? (Or perhaps microsoft will use instead dogs, so it will be "IE X.3: Golden Retriever")

Oh, nothing. I'd just be amused to see a non-harmful but either helpful or playful virus.
