switch menu problem on IE

The switch menu shows perfectly fine in my mozilla browser, but when I view it on IE, the menu is complete already, no subdirectories, just all of them viewed already... anyone mind telling me what's the problem?

First of all, make sure javascript (called activeX and active scripting in IE's settings) is enabled. Second, if you are running your work locally, click on the info/security bar and answer yes. This (security bar) only happens locally for default installations of IE. If both of these are not at issue:
