whats the worst that could happen if i disabled my routers firewall?
i disabled it, and i get no more error codes on my wii and ps3.
port forwarding did nothing. even putting them in the dmz did nothing.
it didnt help that i would have to manually set all the IP address for them manually, since they kept switching, and knowing how problems work, I would go through and reset all the connections then type the IP addresses manually and things still wouldnt work.
with the routers firewall off, everything is so much simpler and problem free.
but in theory, whats the worst that could happen?
the individual computers still have firewalls.

I'd say nothing, in the sense that no one cares about your system enough to bother hacking it.
If someone gets onto your router, they could change all of the settings and potentially begin hacking your computers because the router may have more direct access than an outside connection. But hacking a router and installing/manipulating things sounds pretty complex to me.
Can't you put up a password for external access, and that would be enough?
Realistically, it's not a problem (in most cases). Theoretically they could take over your router... but what's the worst that could happen then? You'd need to reset it?
I suppose someone could use your connection as a proxy and do "bad things".... that's probably the only real threat, and unlikely.

maybe im just paranoid. yeah i do have it password protected.
would there be a obvious way for some hacker to know there is no firewall anymore?
it says nat enabled, firewall disabled, and things seem to run smoother this way

Attack it, if it doesn't block it, no firewall. I don't think you can just "check" for a firewall (without basically trying to get in anyway).
You could always try a different firewall if possible, and that would make it a bit more secure and maybe not mess up your other connections.
