Ajax XML Ticker (txt file source) and xml files

Just as a test I installed the code on my page and changed tickercontent.txt to datafeed_12565.xml I assumed this script could handle an xml file, was I wrong, as the contents of the file are not displaying.

Is there a script that can use a xml file held on the same server?

The script expects a plain text file and in the format described on the script page (with each message wrapped in its own DIV tag). There is XML ticker that accepts a xml file as its data source, though it's not quite as feature rich at the moment, and regardless of which ticker you choose, the structure of your data file needs to conform to that described on each script page.

How difficult would it be to have multiple instances of this on a single page?

For which script? Ajax Ticker does support multiple instances on the page by default.
