DHTML manual slideshow

Can anyone tell me how to get the slideshow to work if the images are in another folder. I am a newbie to web page design and wanted to show friends and family our baby son. I thought it would be better to use a slideshow rather than have large pages with lots of pictures.

When it looks like this it works,

photos[0]="photo1.jpg"
photos[1]="photo2.jpg"
photos[2]="photo3.jpg"

But when I try this it doesn't:

photos[0]="/images/Cameron/photo1.jpg"
photos[1]="/images/Cameron/photo2.jpg"
photos[2]="/images/Cameron/photo3.jpg"

I have all my pictures in different folders to keep them all organised.

Any help would be great,

Rather than relative linking:
/images/Cameron/photo3.jpg

Try absolute linking:
http://www.yoursite.com/images/Cameron/photo3.jpg

Any other ideas?

The script wants to find this file:

http://www.fin19.plus.com/images/Cam...s%20birth2.jpg

which doesn't exist. This is the problem.

I've checked the image filnames and have altered them on the page. But I still don't still seem to be able to see the pictures. Any more thoughts?

Some servers are more forgiving than others and you're not on one of those that forgive certain things. Like Text Case.

What you've got in the script is correct but you have the wrong case in there so the server says those files don't exist.

Instead of:

//define images. You can have as many as you want:
photos[0]="http://www.fin19.plus.com/images/Cameron/camsBirth2.jpg"
photos[1]="http://www.fin19.plus.com/images/Cameron/camsBirth3.jpg"
photos[2]="http://www.fin19.plus.com/images/Cameron/camsBirth4.jpg"
photos[3]="http://www.fin19.plus.com/images/Cameron/camsBirth5.jpg"
photos[4]="http://www.fin19.plus.com/images/Cameron/camsBirth6.jpg"
photos[5]="http://www.fin19.plus.com/images/Cameron/camsBirth7.jpg"
photos[6]="http://www.fin19.plus.com/images/Cameron/camsBirth8.jpg"

Try:

They look the same, but you'll notice the caps on the C starting each photo file and that JPG is capped. That's how they pop up on a directory search of your server site so that's how they need to be written in the script.

In your image directory you also have some photos with spaces in the names. Don't forget to put %20 in the file name instead of a space or the standard underscore.
