Default z-layer issue with Smooth Navigational Menu (v1.31)

    1) Script Title: Smooth Navigational Menu (v1.31)

    2) Script URL (on DD): http://www.dynamicdrive.com/dynamici...smoothmenu.htm

    3) Describe problem:

I'm trying to deploy this wonderfull control on my pages but it seems to exist some issue related with z-index setting. My Menu is positioned along a picture. IN FF submenus are opened properly on top of the image, but in IE the submenus are "hidden" by the picture.

This issue (z-index does not work as expected) seems to be very common and the cause is that z-index applies only to objects that have the position property set to relative, fixed or absolute (see http://tjkdesign.com/articles/everyt...aid_to_ask.asp)

I will try to fix the code, but question is: Someone has suffered this issue before and has fixed it?

    Thanks

Please post a link to the page on your site that contains the problematic script so we can check it out.

    Hi,

I have finally fixed my issue modifying my own page layout: Nevertheless, once the menu has been deployed, I have checked that the menu is "really" supported on several IE versions. To my surprise menu seems does not work properly on IE6 (see strange behaviour on URL)

Since I'm using currently IE7 (menu works properly on it) I have done IE compatibility checks using MultipleIEs soft (see at tredosoft.com/Multiple_IE).

My question is: the strange behaviour that appears on attached picture is "real" or correspond to a bug in MultipleIE platform? Has anyone checked if current menu smooth version works on IE6?

    Thanks

    Thanks
