Stop Slide Animation on Stepcarousel.js

I would like to stop the sliding animation on this script and have the slides appear instantly. I have the forward and back buttons as well as 8 images that navigate to the different slides. How can I modify the script to just show the slide instantly? Also, if I could do that with a fade in or out or some kind of transition, that would be really good. Any ideas?

Yes, though the fade is optional. I can't just scrap the current script and go for a new function because it's woven into my client's wordpress theme and all the CSS and everything is created already and the panels are actually posts that are pulled from the blog. I used this thread to help me get it to be instant for slides that are more than 1 panel away:

But I need it to be instant for slides right next to each other as well as the forward and back buttons. Any thoughts on how to do this?

One quick way to appear as if the panels just appear (without any animations) is to set the animation speed to say 0 in your configuration code:

	panelbehavior: {speed:0, wraparound:false, persist:true},
