I would like to modify the highlight table cells script:

and be able to have a row change background color via a link outside of the table (on the same page) - that is to say if you hover over a link, a predetermined row (or individual cell) will highlight in the adjacent table.

I assume that you can assign an id to a TR or TD tag and have the javascript alter the style (background color in this case).

I've been futzing around but can't seem to get it to work.

Perhaps this script isn't the one to do it with, any suggestions would be appreciated, but have mercy on the noob with a tenuous grasp of JS ;-)
