Latest used files

Hi
I am new to forums as well as new to Vista Home Edition. To make things even worse I am using a Danish language programme but, I will try to translate as well as possible.
My problem is that when I press the start button (circle with the MS logo) it does not load my <Recently Used Files> on the right hand side. I discovered that if I make a right press I can correct or add to my 'Properties' I then make sure that the box 'Save and show recently used files' is selected. All well and good until I have to close down my PC. When I re-boot the 'tick' is deleted and the 'recently used files' box on the right hand side has disapeared and I have to repeat the whoe procedure again. Why is there a wat to keep this selected? Can ayone help?

Follow the instructions below.

1. Right click on the task bar, and click properties.
2. Select the "Start Menu" tab.
3. Make sure "Store and display a list of recently open files" is checked.
