    Question IE 8 and Fade-in

    1) Script Title: Ulitimate Fade-in 1.51

    2) Script URL (on DD): http://www.dynamicdrive.com/dynamici...nslideshow.htm

    3) Describe problem: At www.habitatyorkcounty.org/index we have been happily using Fade-in but have discovered that the page does not load correctly for IE8 or IE7. One gets a blank page and no error message.

Firefox is fine, however. What have we overlooked? The fact that we have had lots of happy viewers the past few weeks indicates that earlier versions of IE are also fine. But now we have just installed IE 8 and discovered the problem.

(Yes, I do note that our novice builder has left in some funny optional-url arguments, but that is a clean up thing.) I have tried the <!DOCTYPE HTML> recommendation as well, but it did not affect the outcome when previewing with Dreamweaver. We are scrambling and have not made the move to Fade-in 2.0.

    Thanks for your thoughts.

The script (1.51) works fine in those browsers. Your page is also blank in Opera, Safari, Chrome - possibly others. It does show up in Firefox, but some or all of the images are missing from the slideshow, there could also be other problems.

Although it could be one or more simple issues, I would suggest strict validation of your pages to enable them to be viewed in modern browsers.
