Fixing a graphic to a screen rather than a page

I want to fix a graphic on the left of my page so that as the page is scrolled to read the text the picture remains visible at the left side. What coding do I need to achieve this?

Javascript. Check the javascript libraries here under Image Effects and i'm sure you'll find something about a 'floating image' that stays in the same spot when while people are scrolling down the page.
