Trouble loading external page in div with dynamic content

3) Describe problem:
I am having trouble with my tabs menu when I dynamically load it,within an external file, in another div on the same page. I have a page that has a navigation div on left side and the content div to the right. What I want is to be able to click on the navigation tab and load an external page in the div to the right. The page that I am loading would then have a tabbed menu in it. What I have now works up until you click on one of the tabs. It then reloads the page rather than loading that content in the div. Should I be using iFrames?
