anyone had experience with op[1].exe trojan?
watch out!!
I caught this one earlier this evening, I believe from wtso . net (it popped up when I was looking for episodes of The Simpsons). Norton blocked it from connecting to the internet, but it installed a bunch of library files and changed some registry values. Info here. I eventually got rid of it by deleting the folders in safe mode.
This was one of those used to bring up fake virus alerts / "intrusion detected!" warnings to try to get you to subscribe to a Norton-look-alike, and also tried to visit a bunch of spam sites like viagra . com. Annoying more than dangerous, and it seems to be all taken care of now, but I wanted to know if anyone else had dealt with it and if there were any further/lingering problems.
thanks, guys.
