favicon question

Hey guys, quick question about the favicon. I just have to use the tool to shrink the image and stick it in the main folder then just add <link rel="shortcut icon" href="/favicon.ico"> into the <head>?
For some reason it is not showing up..any insight?

Sometimes it takes a few days for it to show up in the browser. There are a few threads about this on the forum already.
