Dropdown Menu Not Working

Was wondering if someone could help me out. I'm just learning css and used a css generator to create the dropdown menu I needed to add to my three column css styled website that I'm building for a friend. The menu seems to push the left content to the right in IE 8 and looks even worse in firefox. I added the dropdown menu css code to the end of my original three column css code. Been trying to resolve for three days and have searched this forum and others with no luck.
