Default music help - you've prob had this before!

So yeah I dont know a great deal...and anyway I've been looking around sites for music codes but i wanna know how to do my own. I want to get a song from my computer and be able to put it on the internet to play as like background music on my page (im bored and want a challenge!)
    Is it that complicated?
I saw someone else ask in a thread and no one answered them!
So yeah I wondered if it was possible for someone my level (which i wouldnt say is expert :P) to do that.
Thanks alot to anyone that helps!

    1) Sounds on websites aren't usually advised. Make sure your users are expecting it ("click here to play music").
    2) Do not use WAV files. They're big and bulky and slow down the page no end. I suggest encoding it as MP3 or Ogg Vorbis.
