Want some feedback (and an IE tester) for a .js free accordion menu
I have here an "Apple Style" accordion menu. It can be modified easily, uses no javascript, and is easy to use. Any requests before I try to get it into the dynamic drive library?
I'm a forum noob but pretty good at CSS in general. I want some tutelage.
Oh, I'm using a Mac. :-), so if someone could test it on IE that would be great.

I tried it and theres no accordion to it.
Of course, I have IE 4, not the newest one. Maybe thats why.

Doh, I mean IE 7, but it outputs as 4 in JavaScript so it stuck in my head like that. lol

Oh. I was worried about that... IE sometimes ignores :hover on tags besides "a". :-(
What do you think of the menu itself (in a browser that actually lets it function?)
I'm going to work in some javascript and try to get it running in IE. Or use some strange hacks and keep it as CSS only.

I dig the menu, and this actually opened my eyes as to how to even do something like this with CSS. When I first saw the title of the thread I was like, 'no way'. Now I realize that you actually CAN do some seemingly 'advanced' things without invoking javaScript and thus saving yourself compatibility problems (always a plus).
CSS and HTML/XHTML should be used when possible, simply because they are more compatible on more systems, so I would definitely use a program like this if it could be made to work properly on IE.
Im attaching a jpg of how the menu shows up in the three browsers I have.
Also, I think you can download mac versions of Firefox and Opera. I have no idea about IE.

I tested it in FF, Webkit, Safari, and opera, on Mac.
As for opening your eyes, I would also like your feedback on a CSS dropdown. The functionality logic is son of suckerfish, but I modded it a ton. It works really well.
It should even work in IE.
There's a screenshot of Safari, hope it works the same in IE.
Also, try opening up the html file, and changing the final <link> tag in the header. Change it from color_schemes/white.css to black.css or blue.css, or green, red, orange...
