PHPMyAdmin help

Description:
It's a wordpress blog in Hebrew that its database was erased by
accident and then restored. While the DB was restored it lost its
collation. Instead of the original Hebrew characters I now see ???????
I tried to change the collation in the config.php and in the DB,
tables and fields through the phpmyadmin, but I still get the ?????

Please Help me i am in deep trouble.

I spend hours and hours trying to get rid of "Your configuration file contains settings root with no password..."

I tried the mentioned /scripts/setup.php and I tried to manually change the config.sample.inc.php

What do I have to put in the http-loginbox?

root
or
rootlocalhost
or whatelse?
