    I was wondering if there are any FREE social networking script available like facebook.com or orkut.com?

    Are you talking about making a complete social networking site like those you listed or do you just want to tie into them?

    actually I have heard that there are free scripts using which you can have ur own social networking site

    I know of one called Elgg, never used it, but know of it.
