FavIcon Generator code problem

3) Describe problem: I place the given script (<link rel="shortcut icon" href="/favicon.ico">)in my page as instructed, but my web editing software tels me " empty elements must have an end tag />. Is the given code wrong.

It's not that it's giving the wrong code, but if you are using a XHTML doctype for your website, then you will need to add /> at the end of the link tag. Best advise I can give is to not use WYSIWYG editors but instead use a plain text editor like Notepad, Notepad++, BBEdit, etc.
