Stuck with image gallery

Hi,

I currently have an image gallery with multiple images that when clicked upon, using Ajax, displays the full size image and a 'return to gallery' link without a refresh. Currently I am implementing this by creating a new page for each image.

Is there any script that would allow me to implement this without creating a new html page for each image. So when a user clicks on the image in the gallery the enlarged image appears with the return link.
