Also, /eng/index.php is being redirected to /index.php/index.php.

About the original problem:

Illegal variable _files or _env or _get or _post or _cookie or _server or _session or globals passed to script.

Sounds like a server side issue (those are PHP variables). As such it wouldn't be the script, rather the page it's fetching that's causing the error.

But traq's right. The link you gavr us is currently a 404 Not Found. If we're to even have a hope of figuring it out we would need a link to a real page that shows the problem.
