    Smile Validating problems

    Hello,

    I'm new here but I need a little guidance. I have incorporated the accordian menu and image fader into this site:

    http://www.bridestowe-primary.devon.sch.uk/2009/

    All works briliantly - thanks to the excellent contributors - the only trouble is the multiple errors I'm getting on validation that I don't know how to fix. I have a suspicion it might be a DOCTYPE issue but I'm not that clued up yet. Can anyone help please?

    Thanks very much

    The simplest solution is to make your scripts external. Save the JavaScript code into a JavaScript file (filename.js) and link to it like this:
    HTML Code:
    <script type="text/javascript" src="filename.js">

    /***********************************************
    * Accordion Content script- (c) Dynamic Drive DHTML code library (www.dynamicdrive.com)
    * Visit http://www.dynamicDrive.com for hundreds of DHTML scripts
    * This notice must stay intact for legal use
    ***********************************************/

    </script>
    Note that the credit notice must still be retained within the <script> tags, in the page's visible source.

    Good luck!

    I love Dropbox. Get it through my girlfriend's referral link (I reached my limit) and both you and her get 500 MB extra! Thanks and you're welcome!

    That may be the simplest, but if a Dynamic Drive script is involved (as appears to be here), it's against DD's usage terms:

    See especially #4.

    This is the second time I've seen you give this type of advice where a DD script was involved Snookerman. In the future, please advise folks in these cases to include the script credit in the external script tag, and give an example, like:

    Code:
    <script type="text/javascript" src="ufade.js">

    /***********************************************
    * Ultimate Fade-In Slideshow (v1.51):  Dynamic Drive (http://www.dynamicdrive.com)
    * This notice MUST stay intact for legal use
    * Visit http://www.dynamicdrive.com/ for this script and 100s more.
    ***********************************************/

    </script>

    Thank you both, I'll give this a try and will abide by the rules, credit where it's due and many many thanks for your help, will post when resolved or otherwise.
