div height in IE issue

Hi,
I am really confused by this. I have 2 columns with 2 div's in each to make 4 rectangles. As you can see the right side "events" and "jobs" are split evenly. But on the left side, "news" is pushed way down. WHYYYY?
The two styles for right and left are the same, the html is the same other than the content...
I have tried messing with the height etc, nothing is working.
I have searched around, and the height fixes for ie don't seem to work.

Any suggestions?
