Form field limiter - page slides on MAC

Hi! I have that nice little form field limiter feature working on a website I've just launched, and one person using a MAC (and IE 5.6.1) wrote in saying that when she tried to fill in the form, after typing each letter the page would shift, making it difficult to fill in -- however she did manage to write her message and the form sent correctly. I removed the script, had her try it again and the page didn't shift anymore.

Has anyone ever had this problem? I have it working on 25 pages of the website and like it so much I hate to remove it, but I want the forms to be as accessible to those using Macintosh's as anyone else. Is there a fix for it?
