Default Website statistics: How many of them are actually humans?

I am aware that the Internet is full of robots, crawlers, automated bots and the like...so when I am looking at the website statistics from my site, how much percentage should I reduce the total unique visitors by to get a more accurate number? Any research being conducted on this area?

If you use bbclone as a "hit counter", the detailed listings will tell you if the hit was made by one of the more popular bots or if it was a person visting your site.

    Hope this helps.
