Login Script

I am trying to either find the equivalent to the customised Dreamweaver Login Behaviour that I have seen that only works for ASP and CF in PHP flavour.

Currently the PHP version only allows one login, I want to be able to have users log in and be directed to their page without any messages or other gibberish.

If such a behaviour exists I would really appreciate someone pointing me in the right direction. Alternatively, if anyone kind tell me of an alternative script I would really appreciate it.

Know MySQL? I'm going to be learning it for login features on a page I'm developing. I have a link tabbed for that stage of my site.
