Smooth not including

I'm having problems getting this menu to display... I'm using the external file fetching via Ajax method.

It was the container that was causing me trouble.

Now, the menu is flattened out.
SmoothMenu1 is in the original menu page.
Can that me correct for the included page?

No. It could not be right. It was supposed to be smoothmenu-ajax.
Now it is working correctly, sort of.
It is still not right.
Is this how it is supposed to look?
It has some broken images in IE8.

NEVERMIND. They were little gif arrows.
