    I'm kinda bouncing around everywhere, but I think I'll stick with IZArc.

    tar and bzip2 serve me well... generally the best compression ratio, in my experience.

    Forget WinRAR, where's tar? tar is the archiving software. It's old as ages — far older and more common than any of these Johnny-come-latelies.

    QuickZip does all (or most - definatelt tar, and rar) those.

    Reads 28 different format of archives
    (Zip,Cab, Lha,Tar,Tgz,Bz2, Bza,7z,Sqx, Rs,Rar,Ace,Arj, Gca,Bel,Zoo, Pak,Cpt, Arg,Asd,dzip,shar, zac, MacBin,Compress, Freeze,Splint,Jam), plus various kinds of Encoding formats without using any external programs.
