Default HV Menu - Microsoft Filters

I know that HV Menu is a "complex 3rd party script" that likely won't generate support... but I'm hoping that someone on this board will be able to answer my question, nonetheless...

I'm implimenting the HV Menu for the forthcoming new version of our site, and I'm wanting to spice it up by using the Microsoft "shadow" filter for my child / sub menus. However, after studying the HV code, as well as the Microsoft information on the filters, I'm somewhat at a loss as to how to impliment the "...DXImageTransform.Microsoft.Shadow" code.

Can it even be done with how HV Menu works? If so, how?

Plan B, of course, involves Photoshop...

    Thanks in advance!

I'd go the Photoshop route, as its effects would be cross browser. Remember to keep your images as small as possible (byte wise) and preload them. There is another menu similar to HV that has some cross browser effects like that built in, Jim's DHTML Menu V5.7 but, make sure it will work out for you in all other respects before converting, it doesn't have the kind of drop over frames support that HV has for example.
