    P.S. I was wondering why I would need to have my site scalable.
    Because not everybody will be able to read text at the size you specified, due to display constraints, browser issues, bodily disabilities, or whatever.

    I think the footer should be wider, to separate it from the content more.

    Those gutters still don't quite line up, you know...

    Well, you could resize the container around the header on the right to be the same size as the container on the left.
