Motherboard/Processor Advice

I'm planning to build a new PC and intend on buying a new processor and mobo but I'm torn.

I don't know whether to buy an Intel i7 with it's DDR3 support or whether to buy the AMD Phenom with DDR2. I could wait a few months till they release an Phenom board with DDR3 support but I don't really feel like waiting that long.

Any recommendations?
