Javascript REST and Request/Response?

Hey guys,

I come from doing mostly actionscript development, so Javascript thus far has been fairly easy to pick up, for the most part.

I'm trying to learn how to make a request? And how to take it in, and manipulate the data.

For instance, maybe a weather RSS feed? Or one of yahoo's RESTful API's, etc.
