    Question Gzip Woes

    hey guys,

    used YSlow for the first time lately, so I'm trying to optimize my sites here.. who wants to explain this to me:

    Code:
    These components are not gzipped:

        * [HTTP headers]  (1.5K) http://www.mysite.com/index.html.gz

    WTFFFFFF

    Thanks a lot in advance!

    Since nobody is responding I'll give it a try.

    I don't know much (read: anything) about gzipping, but from what you've posted I suspect you have a file/page with a gzip suffix (.gz) but the page is not gzipped, which might make the process slower.

    Hope that helps.

    I love Dropbox. Get it through my girlfriend's referral link (I reached my limit) and both you and her get 500 MB extra! Thanks and you're welcome!

    Hmm,

    I'm not so sure that that is the case; I gzipped the file myself using my CPanel's file manager.

    Thanks for the input though, maybe your on to something that's over my head.
