Now click on the picture on the right. The image should takeover the page, so to speak; and you can still see the original page because the background is only shaded.

I've tried looking for a tutorial/script on DynamicDrive, but I could't find it.

So can somebody please help me? I'd really appreciate it!

Lightbox Image Viewer is what you are looking for. There are other variations of this such as "Lightbox Gone Mad" or "Thickbox", but the one in the link provided is the Lightbox script I linked to in this post.
