Ian, don't be so hard on the OP, I just got finished writing one for someone else and wrote a couple for you recently. I would take this on except that it looks fairly complicated and I don't really like the effect to begin with. I will tell the OP that:

Has a script that allows resizing of images. That (or code adapted from it) could be part of a solution to this.
